One baby wasn't enough... we decided to add a little more to our lives!

And, along came Sadie.  Our new little baby girl.  Sadie was brought to us by a friend of mine at work who was lucky enough to get her big brother (a chocolate lab).  She and Cache teach eachother so much, he can bark like a puppy and she can squat and pee on the carpet!  They are both happier outside. She however, gets to sleep outside now.

We took a drive up to a beautiful little lake on Sunday and Sadie got to go swimming for the first time. Now she looks for opportunitites to play in the water. Especially as it warms up here.

As you can see by the pictures, Cache too loves water.

My 41st Birthday was spent in Montana with Family!

My wonderful cousins, Dan, Jarrid and Sarina came up for a visit from Tucson, and happened to be at Mom and Dad's on my Birthday. What a wonderful treat it was to have them there to share the day with.  Cache got his first ride on a horse, as you can see by the picture he wasn't too excited about it.  Cicso did great though. 

John and Rohn's Muskox's

Ok Rohn, here they are.  The pictures of the awesome muskox (Oomingmak) from Alaska.  My brother-in-law reminded me each time I spoke to him that this is the "Nelson Family Blog" and the pictures seemed to be all about the kids and not so much about John. So, before it got to the point of my brother-in-law not speaking to me I thought I better get some of these pictures posted. 

So, to answer your question... it tastes a little like bison!  Actually, it is really good! And, just plain ole' unique tasting meat.  We certainly savor each bite cause it was quite expensive to get all the way from AK (being it weighs about as much as a bison; betweeen 600-800 pounds).

The coolest aspect of the story was their visit to the very unique Nunivak Island, Alaska.  They had the opportunity to stay with a family of C'upik Eskimo's in the village of Mekoryuk. There are only 174 eskimo's that live there, and it is the only village on the island.  They experienced temperatures as low as -45 due to wind chill.  March is not a recommended time to visit this wonderful little island, but a great time to hunt muskox.
