The Nelson Family had a wonderful, quiet Christmas!

Christmas was wonderfully quiet for us around here. We stayed home Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson and then went over to the Ranch for the afternoon and evening. The kids got a Wii with a few hunting, football and sports games to offer our family hours of laughter and exercise. 

We are pretty certain that 2011 is going to be good to us with a big Graduation and vacation on the horizon.

Christmas is only a few days away...

Happy Holiday's everyone! I had a few cool pictures I thought you might enjoy.  The beautiful view is of lovely (but cold -20) Stanley, Idaho. For those of you who have never been there, you really should make a pass through. It is some of the most awesome country ever. I had the opportunity to drive through there last Friday morning on my way back from Boise. I had to take a few pictures to share with you.

Cache, Shayle and Colton are getting so exicted for Christmas. The two older kids are most excited about Santa's arrival for their little brother. They think it is funny that Cache is more intrested in putting boxes on his head than he is the presents under the tree.

Looks like we will spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning at home as a family, and head over the hill to Wisdom to spend Christmas Day with the Nelson Family.  We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and that Santa is good to you.  We will post more pictures soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We took a drive over to Missoula to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Trotter, Aunt Shell, Uncle Shane, Cousin Kolter and Uncle Tony. It was so nice and quiet.  We also spent the evening before with the Cole's for Cousin Micayla's Birthday. We played Wii all night, dancing away. Cache loves to dance!

The weather has been nice here... a little bit of cold (down to 0 in Salmon) and NO snow. The ski hill on the State Line is open now though, so thankfully there is some snow over on the Montana side!

Dad's trapping season begins, so Mom has to stick close to home now. And, we are counting down the weeks before we head to Reno for the SCI Convention in January.

Halloween 2010!

And, the month of October is over! Amazing! We have had a fun filled Fall with a little bit of hunting, lots of football, and even a little bit of fishing! It is so hard to believe the month is over.

Halloween was a blast with Cache this year. Our little pumpkin went trick-or-treating with this wonderful child care provider, she took him downtown Salmon to all the merchants. Then he went out with Sister and her friend Zack on Saturday night and got lots of candy. He figured out quick how to knock on the door and grab the candy out of the bowl. He went until he could hardly keep his eyes open. We got him home, put him in his pj's and he was snoring before he even hit the bed. Can't wait till Christmas!

He is really in to guns and fishin' poles now! Who would have guessed?! I suspect it was born in to him don't you think?!

Shayle and Colton are full swing in to school. Colton is finished with football now, and starting his dry land training for hockey. He can't wait till it is cold enough for the rink to establish so he can get on the ice. Me too... Uck! Shayle is counting down the days till graduation and when she goes away to college. She is so excited to experience the next chapter in her life. We will see how she is feeling come May!

Savage Homecoming 2010

Shayle and Colton really enjoyed the homecoming events this year... Colton played JV and recieved MVP for the game... he is an outstanding football player... that boy can tackle and run like his sister is chasing him to beat the bologna out out of him.

Shayle kicked butt at the powerpuff football game... making two out of the three touchdowns for the senior/sophomore team... she kicked some butt... at one point leaving the other team behind like they were standing still. Then she cleaned up beautifully for the homecoming dance when she went with the "King".  She enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the local Shady Nook restaurant with some friends.

Cache just goes with the flow, enjoying all the wonderful energy his sister and brother bring to the home with all their cool friends. He loved pulling the float with Dad in the big Chevy truck. He waved to everybody as we drove down main street Salmon proudly pulling the freshman float!

Now, it is on to hunting season and hockey!

The Nelson Family heads east to Billings for a family wedding... join us for the trip.

Here are a few great photos from our wonderful weekend in Billings with the Armstrong Family. Teresa's (the kids biological mother) cousin Heather got married, and we were lucky enough to be invited. What an incredible family they are. I am happy to tell you that they were all so wonderful to me and Cache, treated us like we too are family to them.  Our family flew over to Billings on Saturday morning and got there in time to have lunch with Aunt Koren, cousin Lance, Grandpa Jim, Aunt Bernie and Uncle Nick.  Then we headed off to the wedding and reception. What a wonderful time we had.

Shayle, Colton and Cache danced until they were so exhausted they were actually begging us to go to the motel room (at 9:00 at night!).  We flew home on Sunday afternoon loaded down with lots of homemade jam and some beautiful art work done by Aunt Bernie and Uncle Nick.

I feel so lucky to have enjoyed the company of the Armstrongs, they are all so loving and willing to share their whole family with me and Cache. And, they treated us as though we have been part of the family forever.
